We've arrived!

After a 14hr drive with the cats, we arrived in Rochester Hills, MI on Wednesday night. It was a LONG day and we crashed after getting food but we are so glad to be here. The house is wonderful. We've spent the last couple of days painting our bedroom and exploring the area. The bedroom was a horrible green/brown wood paneling. We had to paint it a neutral but it looks nice in the new tan color.
The moving company packed all our things for us on Tuesday and loaded them onto a truck for us on Thursday. It was nice that we didn't have to do anything but it also means we stick to their schedule... delivery on Tuesday (a week later). It's been rough living a week on the floor with only what would fit into my car. But we survived and our stuff arrives tomorrow morning! I have never been happier to sleep in a bed! Sit on a couch! Watch some "tv"!
We've spent the time fixing up the house and keeping ourselves busy. There is no shortage of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We have a Trader Joe's, Papa Joe's, Whole Foods and Nino Salvaggio's all within a few miles of our house. We are in love with Nino's. It is a great market style grocery with delicious prepared, fresh made foods and a huge natural selection. The produce area is gigantic!
Our house is right on the South West edge of Rochester Hills which puts us in a great location for everything. Ryan's work is maybe a 5min drive north, downtown Rochester (where I am now) is only a few miles away, and highways are easy to hop on and off of. Our house is .5miles away from downtown Auburn Hills which has a cute, veggie coffee shop with great coffee and sandwiches. There is also a long, paved trail a few blocks away which will be great to ride our bikes on when the weather warms up.
So far we haven't had snow. It was actually pretty warm here last week and just got cold yesterday. We had huge snow flakes but they didn't stick. I am glad it has stayed clear since the movers come tomorrow. After that, let it snow!

We are currently using WiFi at the Bean and Leaf in downtown Rochester. Cute little coffee shop and I am enjoying the Chai.

I guess that is all for now. Probably won't have another update until we get internet (Thursday or Friday). Maybe I will have pictures of the house to post!
